Confirmation of reservation and final payment: A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation. The balance is payable 28 days prior to arrival.
Children: Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building and grounds, except in exceptional circumstances, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 12 years.
Arrival/Departure: Apartments will be available from 2.00pm on the first day of your holiday. We ask that guests vacate apartments by 10.00am on the last day to allow sufficient time for our housekeeper to prepare the apartment for the arrival of the next guests.
Covid19 Pandemic: Guests are expected to observe and adhere to, guidelines and legislation issued by the States of Guernsey and they take full responsibility for this, e.g. with respect to self-isolation and social distancing. Guests should familiarise themselves with the requirements prior to booking and arrival. See https://covid19.gov.gg.
Welcome Guide: There is a Welcome Guide in each apartment. It will be on the table when you arrive. This guide details practical and safety related information for your stay at The Granary. Please read it on your arrival. Many thanks.
Welcome Board: We have a “welcome board” on which your names and allocated apartment are written, as a way of welcoming new arrivals. This board is visible from the roadside. If you do not wish your names to be displayed in this way, please let us know prior to your day of arrival.
Cancellation by yourself: In the event of cancellation for any reason, monies paid will only be refunded if the accommodation is re-let for the period of your intended stay. If the accommodation is re-let, but due to short notice etc, is re-let at a lower price, the shortfall would be deducted from the refund. We would recommend that you take out insurance against the possibility of cancellation.
Cancellation by us: We would not expect to have to make any changes to your booking, but should a problem occur resulting in us needing to make alterations to, or cancel your booking (e.g. arising from COVID), we will inform you as soon as is reasonably practical. If we cancel your Booking, we will refund in full any fees you have paid to us. However, we will not be liable to refund you for any fees you may have paid to any third party in connection with your holiday (including, for example, fees for travel, entertainment, activities or insurance).
Responsibility for loss or injury: The grounds of The Granary cover several acres of improved and unimproved guernsey countryside. There are many hazards; dry stone walls, steep banks, stone garden ornaments, bramble thickets, stone steps, slippery wooden steps, uneven ground, unprotected drops etc etc. Children or vulnerable adults should be supervised at all times. No responsibility can be accepted for any injury or loss of personal effects whilst on these premises.
Occupancy: The apartments are licensed for a maximum of 4 persons. No persons other than those agreed at the time of booking or subsequently agreed in writing may occupy the apartments. Thanks.
Music etc: Guests staying at The Granary enjoy the quiet rural setting and exceptional peace and tranquillity. Guests are expected to respect this by avoiding behaviour that would disturb other residents.
Entertaining your guests at The Granary: Only as agreed with the proprietors. Thanks.
Smoking & Pets: The Granary is totally non-smoking and unfortunately, we are unable to accept pets, sorry.
Access to the apartment: You agree to allow us or any representative of ours access to the apartment at any reasonable time during your stay for the purpose of repairs and maintenance.
Damage to the property: Although we have never found it necessary to make a charge, it is condition of booking that guests accept full financial responsibility for any damage caused in or to the building or grounds.
Medical Insurance: Please remember that there is no NHS in Guernsey and no reciprocal healthcare agreement with the UK. In addition, since Guernsey is not part of the EU, the E111 or EHIC cards which entitle carriers to reduced cost or free medical care are not valid here. It is a condition of your booking that you obtain appropriate travel insurance for all members of your group. This should ideally cover illness, cancellation and injuries during your stay.
